It takes no genius to understand vile death cults such as ISIS/DAESH are completely un-Islamic and exist only to create tyranny on humanity. The ideology itself is something termed in Islam as a ‘Khwarijite’ ideology; built upon extremism, terrorism and an end of world type of methodology. There view of the world is that the, only correct belief is theirs, the only correct way is theirs and the rest shall perish.
The manifestation of this ideology has resulted in Muslims themselves, being the largest victims of ISIS/DAESH. Almost on a weekly basis we see an attack from such ideological organisations on Shia mosques, most recent and notable example being in Kuwait. However, this rife attitude of sectarianism isn’t just reserved for the shias but other groups within Sunni Islam who reject ISIS/DAESH.
Just a few weeks ago, within this very country, in Bradford, the same type of khwarijite, sectarian mindset led individuals to attack a Shia mosque; by spraying it disrespectfully with words of hate and Takfir. It is within this very mosque, the Hussiani Islamic Mission centre that Shia and Sunni, scholars and ordinary Muslims will come together to show a united front.
After the bomb blasts on Shia mosques in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, we saw both Shia’s and Sunni’s come together in a collective prayer. We don’t see why we shouldn’t do the same. Yes, there are theological, juristic scholarly debates that have existed between Shia’s and Sunni’s for centuries, but never has there been a more urgent need for a united front. Its time to put them differences aside and concentrate on what unites us, rather than what divides us. This event aims to do just that. An attack on a mosque of any denomination is an attack on Muslims as a whole!
